Display jumps...

Today when I got home I found my computer (which I leave on all the time) display was flickering, or jumping pretty badly. My refresh was set on 75khz with a resolution of 1280x1024. My card is a Radeon 9800pro. My monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 997df (19' CRT). I found that the jumpiness would stop if I lowered the refresh rate to 60khz, or if I dropped the resolution down to 1024x768. I restarted my PC and changed all the settings back to the way I had them (1280x1024, 75khz) and it worked fine for about 5 minutes, then it started jumping again. Is my video card going bad?

check connections...make sure youve got the things screwed in...VGA/DVI wires are heavy and will pull out if theyre not screwed in

I just had this same problem with my Viewsonic 19", but it occured at all resolutions. Monitor was on the way out.

I'd think that 1280x1024@75Hz should be well within spec for that monitor, so yours may be suffering a similar fate.

weird, i had the same problem. kept resizing randomly. seemed to go away once i disabled the "truecolor" (w/e it was called that configured your monitor) application that came with the monitor
