Post anything that is widely believed to be true but it's not.
I'll start with one:
"Don't read under a dim light, it's bad for your eyes"
"Don't play games too much, your eyes will go bad"
"Don't watch TV upclose, your vision will get diminished"
"Don't watch TV upside down, it's not good for your eyes"
You hear those things from your parents or you even say them yourself to others. The truth is that your vision is totally irrelevant with those things. Your eyesight is unaffected by such factors, you can watch TV an inch away from it all day and your vision won't get diminished or degrade.
Your vision is only, I repeat, only affected by your genes.. It's all genetic.
I heard this from three different optical doctors.. A myth dispelled.
This, of course, excludes physical harm to the eyes: such as getting it cut, staring directly at the sun..
