is it just me or do u guys think that disney is becoming amazingly lame and ran out of ideas about 15 years ago? The only reason disney is any good is becuase of pixar movies which has been dragging them along. i mean Mulan 2, The little mermaid 2, lion king 2 and 1 1/2, the list goes on and on. They take a good movie that was made when people had good ideas and made a sequal because they cant think of any new, original ideas.

Lilo and Stitch is the only hit Disney has had without Pixar's help in the past five years and Disney closed the studio in Orlando that created that movie. Brother Bear which my children liked was also done in Orlando before the closing.

Atlantis, Home on the Range, and Treasure Planet all were horrible.

Many of the Disney movies pre-Tarzan were good, but the ones that came out with after that were pretty lame, with the exception of Lilo and Stitch. That's not counting the ones done with Pixar. Oh and the sequels pretty much stink.

Yes, also with the exception of the soon to be gutted Miramax/Dimension units.

when Katzenburg left, that is when they headed south

if it wasn't for pixar, they would have been totally lame

Michael Eisner has been seemingly trying to run the company in the ground since then.

It's funny how this whole conversation is based around Pixar, who is no longer with Disney.

That is because Eisner blew the new contract negotiations with Pixar. A brilliant move when your own in-house animated films have, in the last few years, laid one egg after another.

When did Disney ever have an original idea? Their entire business model seems to revolve around stealing and twisting stories written by others, starting with "Snow White" and moving on...

It's not like the Lion King was original.

Or mulan

Original or not, they were better than any of the recent ones...

ya i agree.

Lion King, the first Alladin, Beauty and the Beast.

they had awesome production value and the animation was top notch and very creative (like just look @ the genie singing sequence in Aladdin, when aladdin meets genie for the first time. Who can think of a sequence like that? very creative.) I enjoy those three movies because the creativity, the level of detail, etc is all high. The story can be a bit cheesy (well, it's a kid's movie), but heck, I own lion king and aladdin dvd's because they're really great pieces of animation.

those three were the last good 3 disney feature films. all others after started to dwindle.

well, i did enjoy emperer's new groove. ahha (enough to own the DVD. Probably one of the most underrated theatrical released disney film)
