heres the system i'm talking about:

Dell Inspiron 530
Intel C2D
1 x Sata DVD RW
1 x Sata HDD

CHKDSK produced no errors...
Ran Disk Cleanup, cleaned everything.

All sata and power cables look to be connected to motherboard correctly

"Diskette" ?
Where did it say this? If on the BIOS/boot screen, then it means it was looking for a floppy, and when it tried to seek, it failed.

okay looks like i solved it by disabling the floppy drive (setting it to "non" in BIOS)

Oh one of those dreaded seek errors.

We had a few Dells that started doing this. They were replaced. It's annoying if you cannot be at the desktop when it's restarted since their BIOS will halt at that error waiting for user input. I don't know of a fix outside of replacing the system.

well my error was related to the bios looking for the floppy drive and the dell i worked on has NO FLOPPY drive. so i simply disabled it in the BIOS and its good thus far

Ours is for HD0. Will display that even with no HDD installed!

Singh Pradeep said they would replace it.
