I use diskeeper to defrag before I always get 0 fragements and 0 excess files. However, now I get 32 and 2 excess files and it stays that way to matter how much I defrag. I even reinstall OS and what amazed me was that the number is the same! How can I get rid of those fragments? Thanks.

Hey I've managed to defrag those fragments! But some of them came back however instead of 32 I only get 2 now so thats good. I did this by looking at what file was causing the fragmentation in the description after defrag and then I go to the folder and put that file in the trash. LOL I know its not smart and it was a system file. The thing is that system file comes back no matter how many times you delete it. That was new to me I didn't know XP has this type of defense mechanism =D. Anyway with that file replaced by windows. I defrag again and lost 30 fragments =)

Did you do a boot time defrag, that usually clears up files that are in use by windows.
