Well...not related to them, although very interested in filesystem performance, and reading up on blogs, doing my own research and comparisons.
Long time PerfectDisk supporter, and also wrote on several occasions WHY DK (at least with DK10 and up) is FAR superior to PerfectDisk and ANY other defragger i know and tested.
I must say i am deeply impressed with DK 2k7, especially their philosophy and hwo they did it so defraging doesnt need any maintenance/scheduling whatsoever anymore.
Basically, you get a SELF-CORRECTING, always top-notch performing filesystem with *intelligent* laid out and consolidated free space - running in real time, monitoring the filesystem.....and once fragmentation occurs, starts to work in idle ltimes...and BINGO !...your filesystem is ALWAYS as good as it can get and you dont need to worry about ANYTHING.
Download stuff/Install a new game or app.....and you will know fragmentation is not a problem..it WILL correct itself automatically, unlike with DK10 where i scheduled eg. so it did the ifaast/primary defrag runs over night - so there was always a bit "lag" between *WHEN* the filesystem will be optimized, especially in a highly dynnamic system, with many installs, occuring each day etc.
As said i was a long time PD supporter 'til DK10 came out with i-faast, never really cared for DK before because "other defraggers LOOKED better" 🙂 .....but then started to do some research, looking at how various defraggers consolidate space etc..etc...
I highly, highly recommend DK7....i think its as good as defragmentation can get nowadays, quasi a "self-correcting" filesystem (as per their philosophy) as opposed to the (already ancient looking) "need to defrag now". Or "defrag once a week".
Similair to "go online now" a few years back when you dialed up to "go online" while in modern times you just boot your computer and ARE online. Maybe a weird allegory..nevertheless 😉
(And i am really not related to DK neither get anything from praising it..i wish...just want to recommend it HIGHLY)
