Rt clicking on the C Drive on my PC (win7 pro 64 bit) and checking drive utilization indicates 127 GB of 500 GB (465) used. If I scan manually through the folders, i calculate about 97GB. Is the rest hidden restoration images?

I've scrubbed the drive (just a single pass) to clean it with no result.

Explanations? issue?

Thanks

You are talking about a delta of only 6% of the available drive space. System Restore, Volume Shadow Copies, Indexing and hidden NTFS MFT files can easily amount to that. It really is a non-problem.

Exactly. It's a whole host of small things that add up quickly, much more than just system restore...a rather simplistic answer to just trot out that worn out excuse without taking into consideration what you listed, corkyg.
