When I'm told to reboot to the CD drive (a cd would be too small for a drive image) my bios sees the DVD drive but can't boot to the disc.

Think about it....

Remember, the bootable CD has been finalized....you're not going to be writing to it and a DVD is overkill to put a 10-20MB (max) bootable program on it. You'll use a seperate blank DVD for the new drive image.

I don't know if I understand. I tried taking the "environment" piece and copied it to a CDrom. That wouldn't boot and neither would the program cd as it says it would. I can still boot from a Windows cd.
