Disk Drive Problem

I just installed 2 SATA drives (I'm rebuilding my system), and installed Windows XP Pro. Once I saw that everything was running well, I reconnected my IDE drive to the system. This IDE drive used to be my old system drive, and it has all my data on it.

However, Windows is not seeing this drive. I don't think the BIOS even sees it when I power up. I have two media drives (a DVD-RW and CD-RW) connected to my primary IDE slot, and my IDE hard disk connected to the secondary slot. The IDE drive is set to be a master.

Anyone know why it's not being seen? I've got to copy my data from this IDE drive to my SATA's!!!

if its the one that is in you rig, you will have to go into the bios, under the main screen(with clock and date and ide info) and select ide configuration and set it to enhanced pata+sata

then go to the boot menu and ide configuration and select the sata drive that has windows installed on it and make it first

Thanks so much! I pulled my DVD and CD drives from the chain, and connected only the IDE drive. After making the above change in my BIOS, I got things working. Now I can get to all my data!

Thanks again. You guys are life saves! :D
