Okay, this is the 21st century, but still I need to ask this :)

Does anyone know of a great program that can make exact copies of 1.44Mb and 720Kb disks?

<nostalgic>
Some years ago, I had 2 programs I used to make copies of disk games, and they even bypassed some c0py protecti0ns of the time.

One program had a graphic interface, where I could see the drive copying the sectors, and if it found an error, it would split the sector into small pieces, copying each piece, and bypassing the small bits of error on disks.

The other one was usefull to copy the disk to a "filename" on hard drive. It copied all just fine, the main advantage is that I could save lots of disks on the hard drive, for future re-copy.

What I need it for? Well I have some CLASSIC games on disk format, and I don't want to loose them ... I want to make exact copies of them to my hard drive, and later burn a CD. That way I will "never" loose that all important info. Have also other CLASSIC software on disks (windows, works, ...) that I want to keep safe. Backup purposes!

It's all software from the years 1990-1993, and that is quite difficult to buy (if anyone sells them, that is).

Thanks

Do a Google search for "fda floppy disk analyser".
FDA was surely one of the best tool of that kind.

Bye!
