DISK BOOT FAILURE INSERT SYSTEM DISK PRESS ENTER

Specs:
Windows XP
Foxconn Nforce4 Ultra 939
I went in my Bios and check to see my booting order and I realize that my S-atat HD is not showing up at all. Even when I try to force to detect it but no show. By the way there is no floppy inside my floppy drive and my DVD Rom IDE is set at slave

Power seems connected and what do you mean SATA enabled in bios?

I was thinking this was a new build and for some reason it might have come with SATA disabled in BIOS. I've never acutally used a SATA drive so I'm not sure I could give you any specifics.

Could you try the drive in another computer by any chance?

I had this exact probem on my 2nd PC yesterday...

I've tried:

1) Tinkering with BIOS
2) removing the cables(IDE+PSU) from the HD then reconnect.
3) Trying different IDE cables.

Then I gave up and reformatted, now it works perfect....still sucks to lose all that data.

But this is SATA... and how can he format it if it doesn't even show up in BIOS?

Verify SATA is enabled in the BIOS. If it is, you need to listen to the HDD if it even spins. If it doesn't spin, then obviously the HDD is dead. The other option you have is to try a known working SATA HDD. Or have your HDD checked on a another system like your friends.

sounds like your drive is dead, test it in another system but if you cant even see it in the bios and the bios is sata enabled then its a very bad sign

Will thanks to YOyoYOhowsDAjello, I rechecked if my S-ata power cable was connected and it wasn't so after reconnecting the power cble the HD shows up in the bios. After restarting the computer, I recieved a BSOD and searched the problem at Microsoft homepage and the problem was solved after chdsk. I want to thank everybody for there advices and the real problem was myself.
