check the simple things first:

everytime i get that it means I left a floppy inserted and it's trying to boot of that.

WinXP won't boot when I put the HDD as my first boot device. It ALWAYS has to be the cd drive.

If I put the HDD as the first it creates the "Disk boot failure etc. etc." message

BTW: my mobo is a IC7-MAXIII

First thing...stop overclocking for now till you get this issue fixed.

Secondly, here's a blurb from Abit about the Serial ATA drivers not initializing properly:

"Why could I not sometime recognize SATA hard driver by ICH5R SATA BIOS?

We suggest go into ?Advanced BIOS Features? for Delay IDE Initial (Secs)?of timing setting, and then increase the delay time, don?t forget to save the BIOS setting. We think that will fix it."

A bit of "Engrish" there, but you get the picture. Set the IDE delay higher by a second or two in the bios, save the settings, change boot device to HDD's (unless it's considered a SCSI), and try again.

I think it has something to do with the SATA drivers because when I try to start up "Sil 3113 SATARaid BIOS Version 5.0.17b" it says "No device detected, Utility disabled! Press any key to continue..."

Anyone know how to fix this?

Do you have the correct drivers installed? What about updated versions of them?
