I have a Maytag Jetclean.
My GF is always amazed that it will clean dishes that have week old dried on food.
Apparently all dishwashers won't do this.
Mine takes FOREVER to do a cycle, like 4 hours.
But, if you area single guy, it is worth every penny to own one of these.

Maytags do clean well, but 4 hours, I'd go crazy listening to that thing. I'm kinda partial to Kitchen Aid, their interiors are porcelin enamel, so they never get that "SMELL".

Where I come from we do dishes by hand.

and we have to walk up hill, both ways, in 20ft of snow, naked, to get to the sink :p

Our dishwashers at work take like 3 seconds hehe, I think we're pretty loose with the health standards though. Come to think of it, there's not much illegal they're not doing: tax evasion, employing underaged workers, housing possible illegal aliens in the top floor. Oh well, $10 an hour for a weekend job for a guy in HS ain't bad, so I'll keep my mouth shut.

Hmmm....top-line Maytags are very quiet. And KitchenAid dishwashers have had all stainless steel tubs for 3 model series now, they don't get that 'smell' either...that's what I've got ;)

Really. It takes like 20 seconds to wash a dish; unless I'm cooking Thanksgiving dinner or something (and I never am) I never use the dishwasher... don't even know how to.

For some reason, the soap we use makes a big difference in whether or not our stuff gets cleaned

Just got ours back, converted from a built in to a portable, works well too. Gonna make life easier with the kiddies.

I don't really use the dishwasher, either. I just wash the dishes as I dirty them. My dirty ass sister though leaves crap all over the place. She sucks. 30 years old and still living at home.

(I'm in college, so yes, I still live at home. :D )
