Dishonored is the epitome of why i love PC gaming.

Would be a lot more fun if they took away the combat abilities and make it into a full stealth game. I dislike the fact you can always fight off or flee enemies when discovered. Dying too easily from a sword slash or arrow nick makes things more interesting.

That aside, it's a pretty good game and which I enjoyed a lot more than MP3 and Hitman.

I had a lot of fun in dishonored, although I thought blink ability a bit overpowering since I could just about go wherever I wanted instantly. It was still a bit challenging though for certain play styles.

Also, I thought it was a PC game first and console port second? Seems like I remember them displaying it on PC before it went on consoles, although that may have just been for graphics. Seemed to work well on the PC though.

Yeah - I think the level design was pretty poor and relied on you needing you to use blink pretty often. Playing to not be discovered and get the perfect no-kill option wasn't easy...but wasn't as hard (or fun) as it was in Thief. Also, if you go the low chaos/no killing route, a bunch of the skills are completely worthless (like the one that makes tons of rats show up. Or upgrading the pistol.)

No, it would not let people check out at that price.

I thought I read some people were able to grab a copy at the start before the Steam servers crashed from all the traffic. If that's the case, that makes me feel slightly better. I might pick it up during the Holiday Sale depending on what else gets discounted.

Yeah, while Dishonored the GAME is quite a wonderful game, I don't consider it to be even a "good" example of PC gaming, let along the "epitome." Dishonored was a port, and due to that in order to crank up the graphics settings you have to mess with nvidia inspector and you can also use like smaa or someother injector.

FYI -- not a hater, I love the game and even just re-installed a few days ago and doing another run through, got like 90+ hrs on steam (not sure how much afk).

Um...can't believe no one mentioned that Dishonored for PC is a console port. At least they made changes for PC.

Nope, I was sitting there hitting F5 on steam waiting for the new sales to flip over, when I saw it for that price I put it in my cart and tried to do a steam wallet check out. All of about 10 seconds from when they put up the the new listing, and I could not complete the transaction. There was nothing wrong with the connection, they just had the checkout turned off.

Currently I am working through it, and at this point it really is starting to feel like work. Trying to be stealthy and keep chaos low (though I guess I messed that up because throwing knocked out guards into the water = a lot of kills on my last mission 😱 ). Basically I just sneak around, knock out a guard, save, and rinse and repeat.

I like the idea, the steam punk setting/graphic style is cool, enjoy the various methods to move around levels, but I am just doing the same thing over and over and over. It's becoming tedious. Maybe if I had just killed the guards and experimented more with combat I would be enjoying it more.
