Dish Network - use two UHF remotes on one receiver?

I have a DN 322 receiver, and I have the tuner that uses the UHF remote split out to two rooms. Can I buy a UHF remote off of ebay and use two UHF remotes to control the same receiver (one for each room)? Or is there something on the receiver that will only recognize one UHF remote at a time?

You need to look in the setup for the receiver to see if Remote 1 can be controlled via UHF instead of IR. (I'm assuming R1 = IR, R2 = UHF) We have the 622 I believe and it's setup that way. There is an option to turn R1 into UHF, but no option to turn R2 into IR. :( Which sucks because my Harmony won't recognize UHF commands.

I don't know the exact menu options but it should be there somewhere.

I don't think your question has really been answered. If that's the case, you may want to post the question over at Satellite Guys. They have a Dishnetwork forum and a technical forum within that.

Someone should know over there.

I assume you're actually outputting to three TV's? Both tuners are in use?

That's correct. One TV on the IR remote tuner, and two TV's on the UHF tuner. The problem is I have to take the remote from room to room to use the other TV. If I had two IR remotes, I could have one in each room.

I'll check out that forum- thanks for the tip.

Edit: Disregard all of the below, I misunderstood what you were trying to do, what you want to do is a piece of cake. Pickup another TV2 remote off ebay, Go to the system info screen (6, 1, 3 I believe), Look for the TV2 remote ID (a # from 1-16, should be 1 if it is default but it may be different) Set the remote ID to the same (Hold down the Sat button till everything blinks, type in a 2 digit # from 01 - 16, hit the pound button (#), If you did it all right you should have a 2nd remote that works just like the other:D

Yes you can use 2 uhf remotes with all of the dual tuner receivers that I have dealt with(322/622/625), it sometimes is a pain in the neck to setup but it is possible:D There is an option in the menu to enable it on remote #1 and then you have to go to the system info screen and get the selector to remote 1, then change the ID to a random # (Hold down the Sat button till everything blinks, type in a 2 digit # from 01 - 16, hit the pound button (#), then hit the record key on the remote, you should see the remote ID on the system info screen switch to UHF and the # change to the one you entered in the remote)

If you have any problems, PM me and I'll see if I can find the actual directions around here somewhere:D

Good Luck,
