Dish Network question

RU482

Lifer
this might be a longshot, but here goes...

Does anyone here know, when you have more than one reciever, do you need more than one dish? Is there any special circuitry needed to add a second reciever, or do you just plug in to the coax?

On a similar note...you can actually aim the dish just right and it's possible to hit more than one satellite if you're at the right lattitude, but that really only affects those who hack the systems, I believe. THere is no special circuitry needed. You just need to split the coax. I don't know the specifics of Dish Network, but I used to work for a Primestar contractor installing and servicing dish systems. 😛

The dish I just bought has two coax out's on the dish itself. You can buy some out there with four. If you are limited you can get a splitter for it.

I think the problem comes in with programming and cards....assuming you don't have "other" methods available for that.

You don't need another dish, but you do need either a dual LNB or a switch if you want to watch different channels on different receivers. Or you can just split coax AFTER the first receiver and watch the same channels on several TVs.
