I don't think anything needs to be done. I take these on a case by case basis and I've yet to get bent enough to actually request being re-seated somewhere else in the restaurant. Usually the kids settle down or the parents get them in line after a short time or one of them gets up and leaves with the kid in tow.

Maybe you guys just need to stop eating at shitty restaurants. :p

Bust them in the head until the white meat shows.

Just don't eat at fast food / inexpensive restaurants. Homemade food is better, cheaper, doesn't require travel time or gas money, and doesn't expose you to the local wildlife and their screaming offspring.

Ritalin? Muzzles and seatbelts on the high chairs? Maybe...and this is a crazy thought...parents acting like F-ing parents and keeping their brats in line?? Nah, that's just too wacky.

My favorite is when the parents sit there and either laugh and act like it is "cute" or they sit there and just ignore it and keep talking to the other adults. It makes me want to punch people.

Ahhhh....another "I don't have kids but would know what to do if I did" thread.

When people that say these things have their own kids, they tend to say "Ohhh....I get it now."

BS. I've seen plenty of bratty kids and I've also seen plenty of extremely well behaved kids. The difference? The parents of the latter knew how to discipline them, whereas the parents of the former were the kind that wanted to "be the kid's friend" instead of parent.

It's not your business talking to the kids nor telling the parents how to raise them. You should just ask to be moved.

It is your business when they are in public.

Hell, if you saw someone hitting their kid would you just sit back and say "hell, thats non of my business, fuck it"?

Inspired by top 10 pet peeves about restaurants. So far, it's never happened to me in a nice restaurant, but it seems that half the time we eat at fast food chains (Applebees, etc.) I get stuck next to some family with kids that are seriously misbehaving (screaming, running around, etc.)

My first solution: turn around and tell the kids if they don't shut up, I'm calling the boogie man and monsters to hide under their bed & in their closet tonight.

Suggestions?

ghetto restaurants for the loss.

If you see them on TV and a fam'ee of four can knock one out for under $40-60 you are simply...fucked.

I have had good success in local restaurants whose servers will tell parent's without a clue to box their meal up or fix it.

Getting a room full of people that can afford to just eat out without worrying about an overdraft or looking for being 'seen' in a place is awesome.

I am usually one of the first people out of their seats to walk over to a table and tell "dad" to leash up his animals.

profit ensues.

hmmm being I am part of a society it is indeed my business.

This crap that everyone is ok is the socialist shit we are ending up with in our capitalistic world.

There used to be a way people went out. It used to be nice and orderly. Now money is so dumbed down; Joe Meant ToRent can go out to eat each night with his orphanage in tow.

End thread. Confirmed absolutely true. I used to be one of those pissed off people. I now have 2 kids. Now I get it.

Ohhhhh, I get it. See, I had 2 kids. I know the feeling - when you take your kids out, it's incredibly inconvenient to:
A) Take the kid out to the car until the kid calms down/is convinced to behave, while your food gets cold.
B) Have your food boxed up to take out & eat it at home, giving it time to have cooled down.

The problem is that some parents have learned to deal with their kids problems whenever they arise, rather than just when it's convenient. That's why some people's kids don't act out in restaurants & some people's kids do.

Don't eat at shitty restaurants then joe rent. Problem solved.

BTW-If your ass came waltzing up to me in your fairy white pants telling me how to raise my kid I'd knock you the fuck out.

I have to admit, I love it when kids act like animals in restaurants. That way I can feel all smug and superior because they're even worse than my 4 kids were. I love it when the entire restaurant is giving nasty looks to somebody else, and I can join in with the nasty looks and pretend that my little ones were always perfect angels.

I reminds me WHY I pay all that money for the babysitter.

you'd try anyway. Parent's somehow think they are all Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, etc.

It's embarrassing getting choked in front of your child.
