I never ordered from them, but I get a bunch of subscriptions from ebay for like $1 or so. They take a while but they've always come.

Nope, it's perfectly legit and there are tons of other sites like it. I just paid $90 to someone on eBay with thousands of refs, for about 9 magazines, most of them for 2 or 3 years. (Wired, Details, GQ, PopSci, C&D, Motortrend, Rolling Stone, Spin, ESPN)

No experience with DiscountMags.com, but have dealt with Shoppervalues.com in the past. Subscriptions typically take approximately 6 to 8 weeks to begin, but have never experienced any difficulty whatsoever.

Well, have you guys ordered from this particular site before? Because it says it's just becoming ready for business now and it still needs work. I'm trying to check out without opening an account and it's not happening. They have the cheapest price I've seen for Men's Health, which I want a subscription to, but I don't think I'm gonna take a chance on this site at this point.

You also want to remember how the magazine business works. Magazines make money on their ads. The more subscribers they have/newsstand issues they sell, the more they can charge for their ads. In general, the subscription price only covers part of the printing & mailing costs anyway.

I would guess that magazines that are easily available for cheap on the internet, are looking to build their numbers in the particular demographic that covers internet users (probably young males).

Am not familar with either of these publications: is Men's Health much better/preferred than Men's Fitness?

Men's Fitness.

Try searching for "Mens Health subscription" on eBay, I'm sure you'll find some good prices on there.
