Disconnected from internet exactly every hour? For 20 seconds ish

I dont think my modem or router is disconnecting, but I think something is happening. Its been happening for about 5 days now, but every hour it will disconnect. Today it kept going off at X:37, like 2:37, 3:37, 4:37. Sometimes the minutes will change, like to 59 or w/e but its hourly. The only thing I notice is that its only for about 10-20 seconds but long enough to disconnect from like online games and Ventrillo. Its quite annoying when playing for a few hours.

Any suggestions where to start? I am wired, not wireless. Modem is a Motorola Surfboard (cant think # offhand), and a Linksys WRT54GS router. Not sure if its Charter cable or my network.

can you still ping the Linksys LAN ip when you lose the connection?

Do an ipconfig /all and tell us your IP lease and expiration time. Also, as the person above me posted, try to ping out when you lose connectivity. Ping yahoo.com and ping your linksys IP, more than likely it's 192.168.1.1). Odds are it's something with your router, linksys routers in my opinion are very bad about this type of thing - hence why I haven't used them in about 10 years.

the actual minute is almost when it does its hourly reset atm (was going out at :03 for a few hours before I went to bed last night). So when it goes out ill try and ping my router and outside website, but also check this again. Ty for your help.
