Disc space?

All my files and floder together shows total size of 2.79 (2.89 GB on disc)GB on my primary boot up drive partition. But win XP says I have only 193 MB free space though the totalspace on the partition is 5 GB. I am using FAT 32. Can any one please suggest how i can recover the lost disc space? There seems to be same problem in all other partition also. All other partitions consumes about 2 Gb more space then the actual files and folder size including hidden folders. Does XP has any problem?

Don't know the solution to yor problem but you can take a look at the Disk Management console to see whats reported there....

Start->Setting->Control Panel->Administration Tools->Computer Management->Disk Management

While you are at it take a look at the event viewer to see if any errors are reported...

Start->Setting->Control Panel->Administration Tools->Event Viewer

Let us know if you spot anything out of the ordinary.

Good luck.

I shows 667 MB free space. I cleaned up the disc and got 667 MB free space now. But strangely all my files and folders still shows 2.89 Gb. So I should have another 2,2 GB instead of just 667 MB. the event viewer doesn't show anyhting abnormal. there are a few application hung error but that's about it.
