Disassemble Maxtor 5000DV

I have an out of warranty Maxtor 5000DV (160GB drive). The drive is whirring and clicking and doesn't show up under Windows (yet another dead drive).

I'd like to use the case with a new drive inside. Does anyone have directions for opening the enclosure without resorting to brute force (and broken plastic flying around)?

IIRC, that case is the same as my Maxtor 3000. If so, the colored pieces on either side just snap off - there should be a notch on the back that you can insert a flat head screwdriver under and pop them off. Then the plastic case just opens up, and the drive is inside a metal casing that has a few philips screws holding it together.
