I got a new cpu cooler a Asetek Vapochill Micro Ultra Low Noise Cooler 92mm fan.
I was hoping to get temperatures below 40 but at idle im getting mid 40s if im lucky low 40s.
Im using the software that came with the mobo to get the temperatures.
Is there any good software that is accurate just in case the sotware is wrong.
My pc is jammed with cables would this restrict airflow much.

Thanks any help would be appreciated.

P.S Would high temperatures on my gfx cause my pc to jump when running games because my gfx keeps resting to lowest settings.I presume this because the temp gets to high into the high 70s.

Try organizing your wires befor you do anything it pays off in the longrun. I don't have a single wire sticking out in front of my mobo.

They arent really on the mobo just loads of them at the side which could be blocking front intakes etc....

Pause for a second, and smile because life is pretty good when one of your concerns is your cpu temperature is 7 or 8 degrees warmer then you'd like. :)

Yeah what GreyMittens said. Also you have to rember, the vapochill micro is still an air cooler, no front intake, no cool air, no cool vapor, no cool CPU.

I understand a cooler idle temp means a lower temp at max speed. But unless you are using peltier or water cooling rig, I sincerely believe mid 40's is decent enough. IMO, I would be worried if my max speed temp is in the high 70's. If my idle temps are in the 50's and my max speed temp is below 70's and I do not experience crashes I'll consider my system normal. In short, I will be more concern about hi temps at max speed than my idle temps.

Clean up your cables so your front-intakes can provide cool air to everything inside. Seriously.

Honestly, don't be worried.

I'm willing to bet well over 50% of motherboards incorrectly report temps to an extent, either too high or low.

Thanks for replies,
Ill get myself to tidy up the cables plus im going to buy a new gfx cooler to lower the temps.

Also one other problem im having is my pc turns on fine but no image comes up on screen this doesnt happen that often but is really annoying.
I have to keep turning the monitor on and off to get the image to slowly appear and then takes a while for the brightness to get to normal.
Is my monitor dying?

Thanks again
