The liberal left doesn't believe in good or evil. Jpeyton is their poster child on this forum. They believe anything the US does should be countered by some other nation, regardless of their values.

Will you please shut the fuck up with your stupid and idiotic generalizations, you worthless piece of trash. Just shut the fuck up, douchbag.

And please, you mental midget, please . . . learn to spell "despicable." Your misspelling of "guarantee" is probably just a lazy-assed typo, but this is not the first or second time you've misspelled the relatively easy word "despicable."

He's a total hack, I think he's admitted it before. Pathetic to say the least.

Lol, and that coming from a moderator. No, I'll call it as I see it.

You should really take off the glasses then, because they must be really fogged up.

And I believe Perknose was posting more as a poster and not a mod. Many of us were probably already thinking what he said.

Were you under the impression the Poles were in anyway going to provoke Russia?

Russia: Poland risks attack due to U.S. missiles

WARSAW, Poland - An agreement that will allow the United States to install a missile defense battery in Poland exposes the ex-communist nation to an attack, a Russian general said Friday.

And in the strongest threat Russia has issued in reaction to plans to put elements of a missile defense system in former Soviet satellite nations, the Interfax news agency quoted Nogovitsyn as saying Poland was risking attack.

?Poland, by deploying (the system) is exposing itself to a strike ? 100 percent,? Interfax quoted Nogovitsyn as saying.

I guess since Russia got to decimate Georgia with out any repercussions they figure they now can destroy any of their neighbors at will no worries.

How can anyone even question why these countries would want the missle defence system?

The situation in Georgia has already shown they're not afraid of a skirmish to keep their sphere of influence intact.

Well, it wouldn't be an arms race if Russia didn't play along.

As for Georgia and the Russian skirmish, you are joking right? Russia had no choice but to make that move. They were played just as well as the Georgians were. If they weren't afraid of a skirmish with the West, there would be Russian valets parking tanks in Tblisi.

The Russians new there would be fallout from attacking Georgia, the US sweetening the ABM deal with Poland to get it fast tracked is probably just the start. I'd assume that Ukraine will be offered a NATO Membership Action Plan by the end of the year.

They can bluster all they want about targeting nukes at Poland as that's all talk anyway since the coordinates can be very easily changed.

Yes, in reality it's not that meaningful.

Poland wasn't part of the Soviet Union. I think it is a totally different situation. I don't think Russia would roll tanks into Poland any time soon.

Hungary wasn't "part of the USSR" either, and look what it got them.

wait, so most here disagree with a defense system?

How is Russia at all threatened? Poland and the US are just trying to defend themselves, this is nothing like the Cuban crisis. Cuba had nukes pointed at the US, we are just putting up a defense system.

One needs to consider how an opposing country may respond to a sudden and large build up of defense. If such things increase anger and hostility then is it really worth it or are their other ways to go about the situation which reduces the threat? It boils down to trying to figure out which is the lesser of two evils.

Now, I am not saying that Poland did the right or the wrong thing here. The truth is that I am unsure. However, I just wanted to explain to some of those here that may not fully understand that this matter of Poland "defending themselves" might actually end up shooting themselves in the foot. Let us hope that is not the case.

Wait, who are you accusing of restarting the arms race? There is only one country that is reaching halfway around the world to install a "missile defense" system on the doorstep of their cold war rival. Weren't you glad when the US responded fiercely to the Russian's attempt at doing the same during the Cuban missile crisis, or are you as clueless as the current White House press secretary?

Iran isn't a threat at all. They would be obliterated by the military of any major world power, and they fully know it. Our leaders just continue repeating the same lie, rattling the same sabre, to convince people they need protection from a non-existent threat.
Hi comrad. I like your flag.

Sigh, once again Americans thinking they are the overlookers of the earth.

The USA has no business in Poland, period, we need to keep our noses out of things like this.
