disappearing ram

hey everyone

got a weird problem at the moment, one of my sticks of ram (256mb pc2100 crucial) is only registering as 128mb, half has disappeared!!!

im not getting any errors with the stick still in the system and when i run it with another of the same type.

anyone have any ideas?

Did you try reseating it? Putting it in a different slot?

I had 2 sticks of crucial go bad in the last year - no system POST with one of them, the other registering 128 when it used to be 256 just like yours. 🙂

If reseating doesn't fix, RMA time.

High densisty ram or low??? Older MB or newer???

PC2100. Density doesn't matter. 🙂

Had the exact same problem with a stick of Corsair 256MB PC2100 and am now awaiting my replacement from the company. They RMA'd it without any problems.
