Are messages ever removed from the forums (and it's archives)?

If so, under what circumstances and where is this stated in the site's policy, if at all?
 
Zuni usually warns users at least 24 hours in advance to give them a chance to back up and threads they want to save. He posts the warning here, in Forum Issues. 🙂
