I no longer use my desktop computer as my main machine, I do however use it as a "server" to store my files (3 hdds inside). I remote to this computer via my laptop. The video card I have in the machine is a gaming video card, which probably waste a lot of electricity since I no longer have a monitor hooked up it (monitor died). Is it possible to disable the video card without actually removing it from the case? I know there is an option to disable hardware in the Device Manager but would this actually disable power to the card? Would this cause issues whenever the computer restarts?

I think the idle power would be the same in both scenarios. Best bet is to pull the card.
