Disabling onboard sound!

Hi! I need to disable onboard sound so I can install my SB Live full. I have an ESS solo in an ACER desktop. How can this be done, do I go into Device manager and remove or Add-Remove and do it or do I go into BIOS on bootup and if I do , how do I do it this way. Sorry bout the long runon sentence, think you know what I am needing. Please assist, greatly appreciated! Psongman

A lot of onboard chips are disabled in the bios.

Since I don't have your MB I can't tell you exactly where, but look around and you should be able to find it.

try to see if there is a jumper on the mobo to disable it...

try to see if there is an option to disable it in the bios...

if not, do what zipperhead said...

I agree with Zipperhead, disable it in the Device Manager. Been there, done that.
