A disgruntled family member of mine set a password via the content advisor for my internet explorer (6.0) and only remembered the password long enough to confirm it--and never wrote it down or anything, figuring that i could change the settings back--but i cannnot. Because internet explorer is basically integrated into windows XP, it's impossible to delete--i've tried several times removing the software in add/remove programs, but the executable file still remains, and with it the dll. file that I assume contains the password, and other preferences. So, my question: How in the hell do i remove the password protection without formating (i can't imagine it would come to that)? Thank you for your replies.
