Disabling AA and AF with Radeon/Catalyst?

I just don't seem to see any option to disable them at all time in the control panel... just tick "application preference" option then?

Yes, application preference is usually default off. Unless the application supports software based AA or AF. Like NWN supports software AA for example. Just set it to application preference and it's off. Once you uncheck the application pref box your card defaults to 2x AA and 2xAF unless you've previously set them to something before.
