Disable Windows 10 Automatic Updates

Hi there guys I purchased Dell laptop and it came with windows 10. I wanna know how I disable windows updates in windows 10?

The easy way is to set your wifi connection as metered under network settings, Win10 won't update by default on metered connections. But that won't work if you connect using ethernet cable.

really. There are no good options. let it update. Is there a valid reason not to?
I updated a laptop from 2009 to win 10 the day it came out and have had nothing but smooth sailing. Updates install when you reboot.

My sailing was not smooth with Windows updates. It broke windows on my other new laptop. So I smooth sailed with updates off.

There really is no point in disabling updates, especially with Windows 10. The risk of your computer "breaking" because of a security update is slim. The risk associated with leaving your computer not updated is greater.

Will this reduce my net speed? And how i do that?

It shouldn't reduce your internet speed, since it reduces windows chatter so it should improve net speed instead. Just change your wifi settings like I said or google it if you don't know how.

yes automatic updates cannot be disabled with windows 10 because when microsoft want you to update you will HAVE to update.

Setting wifi to metered is the most reliable way, there are other 'hack' methods but meh I quit trying.

Windows security and bug fix updates should be mandatory, but other kinds of updates like KB* that contains nonsense shouldn't be automatically pushed.

My only gripe with auto updates is with Office 2013; I only have Word and Excel installed, but updates for Note, PP, etc. are applied. I used to be able to hide these, but no more. Sigh...

Luckily, I am fully converted to OpenOffice. No such shenanigans anymore and it's totally free. No need to reactivate every time I do something with my PC.

MS should really stop...pushing people away with sticks...lol

My win 10 install is smooth sailing, but I do tech support and I see all the issues with win 10 all day. Ive just had smooth sailing cuz...i can pretty much fix whatever goes wrong and i have backups so I dont worry about it. but for the standard user I can see how win 10 is...problematic..

MS better hope android never gets a good solid desktop version...
