Disable SIRI in restrictions? (edited)

Is it possible to disable SIRI + Voice Control without setting a passcode when the device is locked, so SIRI won't accidentally turn on when the home button gets pressed while in your pocket and do random calls. This is something people have complained about.

If you just disable SIRI in the main settings, then Voice Control is enabled which i also want disabled (at least when locked).

So how can you do this? I read something about disabling SIRI in restrictions or something but how does that work and doesn't this active Voice Control instead which i also want to leave disabled.

I just read that ios has a restrictions (parental control) section where you can turn off SIRI.. if you do it there and hold the home button, does Voice Cotnrol instead turn up (which happens if you disable SIRI in the main settings) or not?

Without a pass code there is no way to do it. Disabling Siri just means Voice Control will be used in its place. Why not use a simple pass code?

Typing in a passcode each time isn't very convenient.. just wondering but does the disable siri when locked in the passcode settings also work if you use a fingerprint instead?

Get one of the new iPhones with TouchID. I hardly type any password, and since I would be pressing the home button to open the phone's swipe to unlock anyway, this just is another second on the button and I'm in. I hate using my GF's phone now, as she has a 5C. It is so cumbersome to type in her passcode.

I have an iPad mini 2 (retina). Just went to Settings > Passcode > "Require Passcode" and changed it from "4 hours" to "immediately."

On the same screen, I turned-off Siri with the toggle switch.

Backed-out from Settings to the home screen.

Locked the iPad.

Woke-up the iPad again.

Holding the home button on the lock screen does not activate Siri and does not activate iOS3/4 voice control either.

I don't see the problem, OP.

I think the only difference with a 5s/6/6+ is that it might unlock while your authorized digit is on the button, and then it would activate Siri. Still, other people without an authorized print would not be able to activate Siri. I guess also the category in settings would have a slightly different name like "Passcode and Touch ID." My 6+ is not with me at the moment.

Thanks for the reply. The problem is that the method you described only works if you set a passcode which is something i don't wanna do. However, if you choose to unlock with fingerprint instead of a passcode, will the above also work and could you perhaps test this first to make sure.

This aside, i don't understand why apple connected the disabling of siri from lockscreen with setting a password, which have nothing to do with each other.
