Disable Onboard devices for better O/C?

I heard someone mention trying to disable onboard devices for a better overclock. Is this true? Has anyone been able to improve O/C performance by disabling onboard audio and lan?
 
While I'm sure there have been instances where disabling onboard sound/LAN affected a person's overclock, I tested it on two motherboards with the same chip and disabling onboard sound/LAN didn't have any affect on OC. I haven't checked to see if enabling USB hinders my OC since I currently have no use for USB.
 
I also haven't seen where it helps get more of an oc, but it many instanances some chipset during high fsb ocing may effect that items ability to function properly as well as possibly give some instability issues.

Older i845d mobo had some issues with high fsb and usb devices either not being detected, working, or freezing of pc when connected....some chipsets with onboard video since it isn't connected to the bus may not be locked when an agp/pci lock is anabled and thus could take the effects of ocing...onboard sound has known to be an issue on some boards and cause some quality issues....Also I think I heard of some possible raid issues which can be sizeable but I don't know if the large influx of agp/pci locks on later mobo models have corrected those issues. HIgh pci clocks usually caused issues with onboard raid controllers more so then a standalone of the same controller.
