How do you disable the guest account locally, but keep it enabled for network usage? I know it's possible, but I don't know how.
 
Wouldn't that defeat the purpose? Do you just want to prevent people from using it to login to your machine locally? If so you can use the local security settings applet under control panel -> administrative tools. Goto local policies, user rights assignment and remove guest from "Log on locally".
