How To Disable C6 State

How is C6 State generally disabled? Is it through the bios, OS, or is there some tool needed to execute the change?

I recently seen some ZenStates2.0.0 debug app on github and it has an option to disable it. I thought this was done usually in bios.

EDIT: here's the github link. look at your own risk, have no idea if it's safe or not:

To prevent hard hangs. I don't know if this is just a Zen 1/+ thing or if later Zen is susceptible as well. I've seen these hangs on a 2700X running linux.

The BIOS option to Disable Global C-States should do the trick if you're actually experiencing this issue.

Thanks, makes sense !

Apparently it's still an issue with the 5k series chip. I'm not experiencing anything remotely like it, was just curious.

What is 'Package C6-State'?

The various C-states are lower power states, higher numbers implying that more stuff is turned off. Apparently Ryzen has a bug whereby it will drop into a deep sleep state like C6 and not be able to get out. I've no idea whether it's a hardware bug or incorrect sleep or wakening code.
