what makes censors edit out f*ck but not a$$, t!ts, sh!t, etc.

what makes one word dirtier than another? i always wondered.

the other morning driving into work, i almost crashed the car when i heard the radio dj say "t!ts" lol. i was like, since when are they allowed to say that on radio?

I don't even understand why people get so worked up over WORDS at all....let alone why some words and not others.

For example, the word CRAP. It's meant in the same way as SH!T, but it's "ok" to say CRAP but not SH!T even though they are considered to mean the same.

"Sed a... said a dirty word, 'e said a dirty word!" - Igor, from Young Frankenstein.

Sorry, s'what popped into my head. Cuss words seem to be completely arbitrary. It's culturally defined, so what is a bad word in one context (you wouldn't say fsck at a job interview) is more or less fine in another (you might say it with your friends). It all depends on the image of yourself you want to portray, I guess.

Perhaps the severity of the words comes from the thing they represent? If you saw some gal's t!ts, you'd be less shocked than if you saw two people fscking. Make sense?

I see dog sh!t all the time, and it's not shocking, but it's censored.

Yeah.... and "You Freakin suck!" You meant fvckin, so why not just say it! It's all about symantec, and how you use it, not the actual word.
