Sorry, all has been deleted. This one smells of scam, as well as running an illegal operation by not collecting sales taxes where due. We cannot afford to put people in jeopardy. There have been similar scams in the past where bogus firms use websites for the sole purpose of obtaining credit card numbers and funds via paypal.

Looks kinda iffy...
At least they are Paypal verified:

BUYER PROTECTION POLICY:
If you pay a Verified seller who does not ship the promised goods, you may file a buyer protection claim under PayPal's Buyer Protection Policy. For purchases made on eflay using PayPal on or after 11/10/00, buyers who qualify for eflay's insurance policy (currently limited to $200) may recover up to an additional $200 of protection from PayPal. For non-eflay purchases, PayPal will investigate your claim, and attempt to collect any funds owed to you. You will be entitled to the return of any funds PayPal is able to collect on your behalf. Recovery of your claim is not guaranteed.

can you say scam?....

paypal payment only = "say good-bye to your money!"

This is the SAME company that pulled the same stunt during the spring season, however, they were unable to collect the money because at that time, they accept credit card payments. Most people caught on to the scam and cancelled their numbers before any illegal charges were made.

Freespeech is the same company that was trying to sell through Saleoutlet a while back. No one ever received laptops. I don't know if they ever charged anyone's account, but they never delivered the goods and got a whole bunch of credit card info...
Too good to be true...

PayPal? Be careful. If these guys can't even spend the bucks on a real credit card merchant account, I would steer clear from them, especially with something like a laptop where the protection of a CC will do you good.

That's an hours drive from here, but I used to work in that area.
It's an industrial area just outside JFK Int'l Airport, mostly warehouses and freight forwarders.
Not much of a location for an upscale showroom, but a good one for someone dealing in 'mail order'.
I don't remember any of the buildings there being big enough to have 62 "suites".

they are also selling a celeron 600 model for $500. if you were trying to rip people off, you could atleast make it look somewhat legitimate.

about being paypal verified, that doesnt mean anything. all you have to do is provide a credit card, reply to a message via USPS mail, and provide bank account information. all of that could easily be forged.

62E sounds like one of the apartment building. I don't know, this might be another one of those scam to me.
Everyone, please be careful.

like others have mentioned, an old scam.

Freespeech used to be a merchant listed at saleoutlet.com; they didn't have any real product back then. Somebody went down to check them out, and IIRC discovered it was a mailing center type of outfit where they'd rented a mailbox. Someone else reputedly spoke with the guy doing business as Freespeech, and was told that the notebooks being sold are cheap knockoffs.

Even a lunatic doesn't see much prospect in this deal. Search the archives if you want more evidence.

I used to live in Queens in the Jamaica area and as far I can remember this was a slum area. The area code they have on their website is not the real one. 718 is the area code should be it. I have friends and family in Queens, I'll have someone check it. If I recall correctly there are no business building in that area for them to have a suite #. It's mostly building and private home, unless I'm wrong...

They have no listing on www.resellerreview.com. The phone number on paypal and the number on their webpage is different.
Also some of what they say stinks...
>*We do not charge or collect any taxes
Last I heard was if a person lived in the same state that the seller had a presence in, sales tax had to be charged...
>Returns Are No Problem...
>You can try any machine FREE for 30 days, with a major credit card. If you don't like it, we'll cancel the charge and >you'll owe nothing. We'll even come to you and pick it up. FREE.
You can call ups or fedex to arrange a pick-up but they don't state that. At these prices they would be charging 15% restock fee and giving maybe 7 days.
Their prices are way too low. They state the 1715XCDS starts at $479.60. Lowest pricewatch price $999.xx
Pro 4300 series $799.60 650MHz,14.1"TFT,64MB,12BB, Win98SE.... Pricewatch price $1849.xx
Even if they were selling cheap knockoffs there is no way to produce these systems profitably at the prices they are stating.
The best bet when it comes to ordering from here...DON'T!

To further investigate, I sent the following e-mail:

Hello, I am interested in purchasing one of your laptops. However, I was just wondering if it was possible I can stop by your NY location as I live only 20 minutes away. Is it a storefront? I would like to take a look at the laptop before I buy it & hopefully purchase it on the spot.

Thanks,
Mike

Here is what I received:

Hi, thanks for your email, all systems are built-to-order and are shipped
directly from the factory. All orders come with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Thank you for your interest!

Hmm, a bit fishy dontcha think?
