So last night bbc america aired the 1st episode of a show based on the book of the same name by Douglas Adams.

It was very weird and confusing, which seems to be what a lot of shows are going for these days. Apparently it doesn't follow the book at all though.

It seems like it might be interesting and a bit funny, so I'll keep watching to see where it goes.

I didn't know it was on yet, I'll have to check it out.

I've always been a Douglas Adams fan.

There was a Dirk Gently TV series that aired on the BBC in 2011 or 2012. It got good reviews and decent ratings, but only lasted 4 episodes as the rights fees were too high. I'm hoping this one does better.

It's been a long time since I read it, but that seems true to the source material.

Last night the wife and I watched all episodes up until 9PM last night. Haven watched the British version of the show as it was aired last year on PBS, this pseudo-British version for BBCA was surprisingly good.

I want to like this show. It takes too much attention and if you miss one show or a whole season, you are totally lost and the story makes no sense.

Not my cup of British tea.

And what is with the BBC America voice announcer woman sounding like her voice is processed through a 22 KHz audio filter? Is that suppose to be hip? Every time I tune to see a rare gem on BBC America I hear the filtered voice announcer woman and it just irks me. LOL I'm someone who believe everything has a purpose and I would just like to know the purpose behind that audio filter.

Here's what I'm talking about. https://app.box.com/s/5rtjjgks83lo6l8vzmzpo8byvwq8cd0u
