DirextX 8 question

I just updated DirectX 7 to DirectX 8 and everything is smooth. The only problem I notice is that it didn't update my D3D. Anyone know why? Thanks ahead for the response.

Go into system information by clicking start button at bottom left,then programs,accessories,then system tools to system infomation & click tools tab then DirectX diagnostic tool this will give you all the info & what DirectX version you have installed if it`s not showing DirectX8 then try reinstalling it.

Did you get the official release? The earlier beta's did not update D3D.

Same above: Run -> dxdiag

Even the offical version some beta files according to my install:

"Several files (msdvbnp.ax, psisrndr.ax, msyuv.dll, etc.) are beta versions, which are unsupported and could cause problems.
You should reinstall DirectX to get the latest version."
