Directx9.0c uninstalled?

I ran Driversweeper to try and install new drivers (and it just so happened it didn't work this time), so I thought nothing of it and went to sleep. When I turned me computer on the next morning, I wasn't able to play any games because they all have a problem with Directx9, I tried reinstalling it, but it says that I already have the latest version.


So, I guess if I knew how to uninstall Directx9.0c, I could reinstall it without it complaining. Right?
 
That didn't work, and now when I try to install Directx it says "An internal system error occured. Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your Windows folder to determine problem."


And maybe I should mention that when the computer starts up I get 2 RUNDLL problems, one saying "Error loading NvCpl.dll" and one saying "Error loading NvMcTray.dll"

Well the second issue is a nVidia driver problem. Follow this to try and fix that

1) Download Driver Sweeper (http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/), Crap Cleaner(http://www.ccleaner.com/), and The Latest Drivers.
2) Install Driver Sweeper and Crap Cleaner
3) Reboot your computer into safe mode (F8 on boot or Start > Run >msconfig > boot.ini > /Safeboot)
4) Uninstall old drivers in control panel reboot if asked (be sure to reboot into safe mode).
5) Run Driver Sweeper.
6) Reboot PC Normally (undo /safeboot in msconfig if you used this method).
7) Now run Crap Cleaner registry scanner/fixer and scan/fix multiple times until there is nothing to fix.
8) Install latest drivers, reboot when asked.

For the first issue you could try this.

Alright, I did what you said, and for some reason, I still can't install new drivers because of an error that says "The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit."

And when I try to reinstall DX9.0c i get the same error.
 
So what exactly is your current hardware? At this rate though it would seem your problem is becoming worse the more I try to help :\ so I would say 1) System Restore to a point before this problem plagued you. or 2) Backup and Re-format.

That's what I would do at this point. Depends on your situation with backups, but I can do a reinstall a lot quicker than mess with a problem like that.

newer version of directx 9.0c do not tell you it has already been installed... only earlier versions did... you see, for the past year+ microsoft has been released a new version of directx 9.0c every two months. named by the year and month... so for example, you would have a june 08 version...

The later versions scan for missing files and install them as needed, including SDK files.

The new versions are needed for windows vista as well!

For reasons not known to me, the latest version is typically a web installer, while one or two version behind are avilable as a full offline installer as well.
