My friend needs a card good enough to run games that arent very graphic heavy, like World of Warcraft, and he found a card but he brought up the fact it says DirectX8 on it. Since directx 9.0C is around nowaday will it really matter? Ive never really knew if there would be a problem or not if your running a different version than what the card says.

Its nothing that will run like FEAR on all high settings or anything, but he just needs it for older games.

I don't think that will run Fear at all. Not too sure about World of Warcraft. He may have undershot a little bit. Couldn't he have gotten a 9800 pro or even a 5700FX for about that price? Even a used one or something?

has to be PCI. Doesnt have the money to get upgrade and get PCIe/AGP motherboard + new card

I was reading all the reviews and multiple people said it runs WoW fine, some even said on all high settings.

Is there really a major difference between those 2? Theyre both 128bit/256mb 4PP's. Just curious

Oops, missed the PCI only part of the equation. I would tend to agree with schneiderguy about the X1300, but at this point I have no clue where to find any benchies that would actually allow a comparison of the cards in question...

the x1300 should be around twice as fast as the 9250 --- they both have four pixel pipelines, but the x1300 has a much higher core clock and a more efficient architecture. :)

They are hard to find but a pci 6200 nvidia is faster then a 9250 but slower then the x1300. Heres one http://www.pagecomputers.com/store/prod...ame=33g33c200s999&product%5Fid=1116183

But I would grab one on ebay for about 50 -60 bucks

another ::: http://cgi.ebay.com/3D-Fuzion-GeForce-6...1QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I would personally get this one!! BFG 6200 pci overclock with 256megs ram for 40 bucks!

Is your friend running an el cheapfvck HP or DELL system?

PCI isn't a lot of bandwidth for a graphics card
