Every game that runs in directx has glitches and artifacts all over the screen. OpenGL games run fine. Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB. I heard there are meant to be some problems with DirectX 9.0c that MS is going to release an update for (rumour AFAIK). Anyone know if there is something i can do? I tried reinstalling it, but it didn't change anything. Upgrading to latest 4.12 Catalyst drivers hasn't worked either

That'll be a driver problem or a system problem, not a DirectX one.

Are you overclocking/softmodding anything?
Have you run the dxdiag video tests?
 
the video tests run fine. would uninstalling catalyst 4.12 and installing catalyst 4.11 work? I don't want to screw around with things too much. Not overclocked or modded.
 
I"d like to add that Directx 9 has messed up alot of online games it seems. Sony Online Entertainment's 'The Station' 's upgrade to Directx 9 is making it impossible for quite a few of their subscribers to use the game entirely. I"ve heard that other games like this are experiencing simlar problems. So if it IS a system problem, and you get it fixed, I would love if it you posted how. And if it works, I'm sure alot of people would be grateful, including SoE. Considering their programmers seem to have only High school educations 🙂.
