DirectX 9.0c Problem

I have been trying to run NFS Underground 2.
This game requires DirectX 9.0c.
But the problem is, I can't install it.
I have downloaded the DirectX, tried installing thru the provided directx in the NFS CD, and even downloaded the DirectX SDK application.

When I launch the DirectX installer it will ask me to accept turns and conditions, "press next" then before it does anything "there isn't the installation progress bar or antying" and then it says "Installation Complete"
The fact is, it didnt install it. It just thought it did.

NFS 2 still says i dont have DirectX 9.0c

I dont know what is the problem here.

I am Running WinXP, on a AMD 2600++ and a FX52000 grahpics card.


Any ideas anyone?
