Does your card have to support DX9 in order to install it? I Have a crappyy card if u wanna know..(SiS Turbo 315 128 mb)

well - after installing dx9 on my machine the monitors flicker a lot at startup.... annoying really...

the idea is that with major releases, speed should be improved and new features added. minor releases should only be making speed better and fixing bugs
 
DX 9.0a contains mainly bug fixes for DX 9. For old cards it's probably not worth installing unless you have a program that requires it.
 
i would never install a version of DX until i get a game that requires it. if it ain't broke don't fix it.
