DirectX 9.0

I installed 9.0 a few days ago. Now I've been having some problems with my sound and "lag" like symptoms. I went over the whole system and the only thing I could not uninstall to see if that would fix the problem was DirectX 9.0. In different games I'll get lag when my ping is 30 and my FPS is 70. This just started around the time I got DirectX installed. How would I uninstall it and put DirectX 8.0 in? Thanks for the help guys.

as far as i know, directx is a one way ticket.
if you are feeling adventurous, you could try
beta uninstaller

If your running XP then you can do a system restore to a point before you installed DX9, I know this works because I did it with the beta version of DX9.

DX9 works great on my rig. My games seem to "feel" smoother, even though I dont have much of a FPS boost.
