DirectX 8.1 Release Date

How many posts qualify one for Elite status, anyhow? I couldn't find it in the help info.

200 = Senior
1000 = Golden
2000 = Platinum
3000 = Diamond
???? = Elite

4000, perhaps?
 
there is none. elite status is bestowed upon those who post quality content..maybe some butt kissing involved, but to whom, I have no idea.

Doesn't mean anything anyway, I see very helpful and quality posts from all different member levels
 
OK,

So now that we have established 8.0 < 8.0a < 8.1 and that some people neff and that I will never make Elite status 😉, does any one know when DirectX 8.1 is scheduled for release 🙂

Why are they so many that care so much about the member status, Now if your status went up everytime you helped someone that would be different, But why do you have nose hair, Lets see your desktop, 1000's of post on how to piss people off, I would like to see a room for people over 40 to talk about computers and it should just be member under your user name like the other forums, I could care less what it says under my user name, Oh back to what I was going to say, Are you calling 8.0a 8.1
 
DoubleL: No, 8.0a is not the same as 8.1. 8.1 has not been officially released yet, but see the above links for access to a pre-release version of it.

I agree with you on the member status thing. I know some people just use the Off Topic forum to try and get more posts in. Personally, I try not to post unless I have something informative and relevant to say. 😉 There, that was my self-importance trip for the day.

I can't comment on this specific release, but beta DX releases in general have been bad news... better to wait for the final.
