Also, you will need Vista for the added effects, which if things don't improve before release, means you will be taking a 20-30% performance hit in many DX 9 games
 
heh, Halo 2 really looks out of place there. 😛

Crysis and Alan Wake look stunning. I hadn't even heard of the latter game until those quad core comments recently.
 
I thought that Dx10 wasn't finished and wouldn't be released until after Vista launched. Where are the people getting these renders getting their hardware/API to give us these looks? Even Crysis will be launching as a DX9 only, with Far Cry'ish DX10 add ons later...

Ok wait a minute, not all of those are actual in game screens. That one FSX screen with teh water and mountain was listed on microsofts site quite awhile ago as what they HOPED it would look like and that they were artists renders NOT in game shots. I'd take all of these with a grain of salt to be honest until there's been hardware announced and we actually see some sites previewing that.

the CoH screenshots are both from the DX9 version, i think the rest of the screenshots are all from the DX9 versions of the games unless the devs have access to G80/R600 and a vista build with a working DX10 version
 
Forget that Crysis, with EA involved I'm not going to give them one penny until I think they actually sponsored a stable game that doesn't introduce problems instead of fix them.

Where's Quake Wars?

Also, what exactly is Alan Wake supposed to be? FPS? RPG?

Halo 2? Why'd they even bother?
 
look guys . . . again NONE of these games are full DX10 games 😛

everything you see and drool over is rendered by DX9c HW

I doubt Crysis will look worse than it already is. (Not saying it's gonna look bad in the first place, for those who misunderstood 😉

Just because EA is marketing it doesn't mean that they are working on the game. The original crysis team is still the people doing all the work. After the first Farcry and all the hype over this one, I really hope they don't dissapoint.
