DirecTV must die!

In no particular order:

-They give you a (2) hour arrival window and they are still late.
-They review the systems functions at warp speed 11. Hey! If I knew all those things, I wouldn't have called you guys... slow down.
-The Direct TV remote is terrible. No light, poor ergonomics, ugly, black lettering on a dark grey background (brillant).
-They use your phone to activate the system and it takes the guy 20 minutes on your phone.
-They don't even work for Direct TV, they are subcontractors who appear to be guessing the answer for most questions.
-They drill holes and then just leave the debris.
-They try and use the previous cable clamps and save 0.02 and the clamps fall out (1) hour later.
-(1) hour after they leave, your TV does not work and you get the message, "Searching for satelitte #771" and then you have to call and reschedule another appointment.

I must now drink heavily.

For the life of me, I can't understand why the cable comany runs so many ads for itself on cable...I mean, I already have cable, would you like me to...switch to cable from cable?

Dump 'em.

I have DTV but I'm not a whiner.

You mean the contracters should die, sounds like they are the ones that messed you up.
Sounds like that to me, as well.

I've had DirecTV for many years now, and have had no such issues. When I moved last year, they installed a new dish in my new home, and I couldn't have been happier with the service.

Our neighbour, being a Grade-A+ Asshole, knocked our dish out of allignment once. We have a billion trees around here and we couldn't find the azimuth to reallign it so we called a DirecTV guy. He was cool...he wrote down the azimuth/elevation when he was done, told us how to get to the signal strength indicator to allign it ourselves, and best of all...he decided to do it for free.

Now I'd buy that Direct TV contractor guy a drink.

Got dishnetwork here. Subcontractor did a pretty good job, but did reuse some ancient cable splitters. Had a poor picture on one of the TVs. A trip to town fixed that, real quick.

Eh, your installer sucked... We've had no problems with our DirecTV... and since I hacked our DirecTV TiVo's... we can view shows in the living room or bedroom, doesn't matter where they were recorded.

Also, I can extract them and burn em to dvd, oh yeah!

Sounds like every installer (cable, satellite, whatever) I've ever experienced.

actually my cable guy experince was awesome.... it was over the summer (in texas so it was fvcking hot) and one of my hd channels wasnt strong enough signal wise that it was stable so i placed a call (thinking they could check the signal to my house). the guy shows up and checks the signal at the point where it comes into the house and replaced the ends but I was still having signal issues. He actually went up in the attic to find the faulty splitter and replace it for me (their responsibility ends when the wiring gets to my house). But he was very cool about going up in a hot attic in 105F texas summer. And best of all cable doesnt charge for service calls (unlike directv/dish which is a big advantage in my book)

Like your cable remote is any better than the DirecTV one...

Never had a problem with their installers or their service.

I  DirecTV and DirecTIVO.

I had two no calls and no shows from the installers. They will give you a $20 credit for a no-show btw.

That would piss me off even more.

My Day is only worth $20 :|

I have Direct TV. I installed the dish on my roof myself. Subcontractors work for the cable company too. Unless you're happy with an antenna, you really can't win. Satellite and Cable are both monopolies....for the most part.
