DirecTV Coax Home Network

This is really interesting.
They are going to make it so people can connect the DVR to the home network and all other DVR in the home without having to run a network connection to every box in the home.

You may need to sign up on the dbstalk.com forums to access this, not sure:

It puts that internet connection for the home onto the homes coax cable wiring that already exist running to each box.

Sounds like its using something similar to MOCA technology. I have a couple Netgear MOCA adapters on my COAX in the house that does basically the same thing (allows me to network my HTPC downstairs w/ the server upstairs over the COAX line)

SWM allowed you to connect both tuners to the dish using one cable. At least up to now. I have 2 DVRs now, connected to a multiswitch. Both are networked. DTV sells a powerline adapter that allows you to network your receiver.
