DirectTV remote lag is the suck

seriously wtf! there has always been a lag from when you press a button on the directtv remote to when the box actually responds but lately it has become way worse. doesn't matter if i have brand new full batteries the lag is just horrible.

anybody else having this issue?

Yeah. Same here. I'm actually thinking about switching to comcast just because of that.

My Time Warner box has the same issue, I just assumed it was the fact that they keep doing huge, sloppy software upgrades, and I'm still using the same shitty scientific atlanta box from 5 or 6 years ago.

I think I jinxed my box with this post (although I can't say I mind). The HDD in it died yesterday and I am bringing it back today.

Anyone have a newer TWC box that is actually decent? I'm hoping to get a newer model, but I don't even know what they have available. I asked them last night on the phone, and they just said they would replace it for me.

I am really hoping they aren't still using this old box still, I could have sworn I saw a newer black box that didn't appear to be scientific atlanta for TWC somewhere, I can't remember where though.

[EDIT] Got the replacement, it's the same 8300HD model, got it home, and this model hard drive is clicking and won't boot up either. I'm starting to really hate TWC. I'd cancel and go with something like googleTV but my wife insists on having cable.
