Directory Opus 9 released.........$65 (The Rolls Royce of File Managers)

I've used version 8, and while it is useful, I can't imaging paying $65 for it. I primarily use it to figure out which folders are the largest and eating my HD space. That folder-size function alone is very useful but can be replicated by many shareware/freeware programs. Not sure why IE can't read the damned folder size and allow you to sort by size. Stupid M$. 😛

I have to agree, it's a nice program, and I would consider purchasing for $20 or so. But for $65, not a chance.

I had this program on my Amiga 500 and 2000 way way way back in the day. It was the only avail on the Amiga back then, it was great and I paid $50 for it back then.... also paid almost $500 for a 1 gig scsi HD and controller.... dam i feel old.... i think i'll curl up in a corner and die now.....

$65 is a lot of money but it's for an app that you will be using every single day so it's kinda of fair compared to say Adobe Photoshop for $1800 or whatever they are charging now.

I used it on the Amiga too. Great program. Although now...$65? Hard to justify.

It would be nice if Microsoft would include a real file manager in Vista. It's amazing that in 2007 all they have is explorer still.

There is nothing wrong with being critical of a $400 Operating System.

I liked the screenshot, downloaded and spent about an hour trying to get it looking the same....since this is the screenshot from their documentation it would be nice if it was avaible ootb...Does anyone know if its packaged anywhere for use?

I can walk you through it, It would take say 10 minutes to set it to look that way.

What part are you having trouble getting to look like the screenshot ?

EDIT: Actually I could design a version like that and then save the config and then send it to you.

I didn't say I disagree on that point. I'm merely stating that we already have one thread for this subject that you created, we don't need that content floating into this one when that sort of discussion is irrelevant in the hot deals section.

It wasnt one specific thing, i found a nice status bar config, but then was having trouble setting my Music type etc, it would just be nice if there was a default theme that was set up in that way. If you have the config, id be happy to take a copy!
